“The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement….present an offering made to the LORD by fire. Do no work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.” Leviticus 23:27-28

Today is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. The Day of Atonement was the once-a-year time that the High Priest of Israel would go before God into the most Holy Place of the Temple with the blood of a prescribed sacrifice, asking God’s forgiveness, and trusting that the death of the flawless animal would temporarily suffice to atone God’s wrath. Death is a consequence of sin; it is today, just as it was in the Old Testament. Let us not forget that, while the Old Testament sacrifices were temporary, it is only through the blood of Jesus that we can be saved eternally from sins’ consequence of death.

Please continue to pray for the final details of the grant-writing process, and for those who are writing it. Pray for stamina and accuracy to finish strong! Also, please be in prayer for the residents here as they go through the process of looking for jobs. It can sometimes be a challenge.
